The Car Audio Basics

The advances of technology have brought man miles apart from the traditional ways of living. The things that seemed impossible become possible. The smaller the device, the better its quality is. Take a look at a car.

Before, it is just a typical car where people can ride for easier and faster transport. It might have some features like radio system an CD player, however it is not as versatile compared with the recent car models. Well, the idea of a typical car used for transport no longer holds today.

The characteristic of a car is far different from the idea of cars years ago. Did you happen to ride an SUV, or a limousine? Those are just examples of state-of-the-art cars. It is not any other car, it has entertainment inside it. DVD and CD players, television, surround sound audio, high-technology speaker sounds, and even security gadgets like security camera and alarm system. Did you wonder how these gadget works?

Let us take for instance car audio. How does it work and what are the things that make it work? A typical car audio is basically consists of speakers, a control panel, or an amplifier, and a remote control. Let us see through the basics of the car audio system.

The control panel or the amp is connected to the source of energy for the car to run. Basically all devices and equipment inside the car run through the same power source. The control panel normally is an LCD screen for most recent cars, or simply an amp for older model cars.

This is where everything comes from. The monitor, say the drive or the amp contains a program to have the audio running. It is where the sound is mixed and balanced for a crisp audio inside the car. This is where the controls are carried over using the remote.

The remote can control the audio system hands-free. Anyone inside the car can control the audio system just by pushing the buttons on the remote. They could lift or drop the volume, change the CD or the music playing, or even jump from one music to another by pushing some buttons. At the same time, the control panel should be parallel and compatible with the remote for it to work efficiently.

The speakers are situated inside the car, normally with the preference of the owner. But for some-predefined cars, they are putting the speakers where the passengers won't notice it. This is where the sound goes out as an output of the audio system.

There are different types of speakers depending on the proportion and size of the car. Car manufacturers normally base the size of the speakers on the proportion of sound within the car and the size of the car of course. The quality of the audio coming out from the speakers is dependent on the mix and control of the specs in the control panel.

These are the basics of a car audio electronic system. Understanding the basics on how stuff works will help us understand the underlying principles and the ins and outs of the car audio system.
