Turn Your Car Into Profits on Wheels With a Senior Errand Service

You probably spend time everyday, or at least several times a week, driving your car. You have to go mail packages at the post office, pick up a prescription at the pharmacy, and then get groceries for your whole family. It seems like it'll never end. But what if you could actually make money doing these errands? What if your car could become your gateway to big profits? That's all possible by starting your own senior errand service.

As seniors age, many become homebound or simply unable to complete errands themselves. When that happens, they often turn to errand runners to do the work for them. An errand runner performs normal everyday tasks for senior citizens, a way to make good money and ease the stress on seniors. Most of the errands are ones we do everyday, but take for granted. Imagine if you became unable to do the errands you've always done. How would you get groceries? See to it that your dog gets a walk? That's where an errand runner could help you out.

Errand runners typically make between $18 and $35 an hour, depending on where you live. The national average is $25 an hour, which can mean good profits quickly.

To start your own errand running business you don't need to take out a large loan or sign up for classes. There's no 15-volume DVD set to buy to learn how to do it. You're already a caring and compassionate person who can drive and stay organized. That's all you need to succeed!

Now there are just a few other things you need. You'll need a car and a cell phone. You probably already have those. You also need to order business cards as a way to advertise your errand running business. And don't forget a day planner or other way to keep track of all your customers and jobs.

Now you'll need some auto insurance. Some states require you to have commercial auto insurance if you use your car for an errand service. If you think you might be transporting seniors to appointments and other things, you might need a special license or some form of commercial auto insurance. Same goes if you're driving someone else's car. There are two companies in particular that offer insurance policies specifically for errand services: Burlington Insurance Group and Canal Insurance Company. Finally, if you plan to pet or house sit for a customer, there are many companies that can offer insurance for that. This is typically called "care, custody, and control" (CCC) coverage. Check with your state or insurance agent to learn more about the requirements.

These expenses shouldn't set you back too much, and as soon as you get some jobs, you'll quickly be making money that should cover all your expenses.
